Confessions of a Shoe Addict

For anyone who knows me they will know that i am a shoe addict myself and that i have probably more pairs of shoes than every girl in our class combined. With that being said the reasoning behind this project is pretty self explanatory. I got the idea from a magazine ad.. sadly i can't even recall what magazine it was. The assignment was that we had to draw something, and not use paint. So i used pencil and of course my favorite pencil crayon. I like the idea behind this piece more than the actual piece itself, and i know that it could of looked alot better if i had more time to work on it.

Hot off the Presss

This art assignment we had to incorporate a news article into our art. The article i chose was to do with going green and Earth Day.
I used paint, gel medium, india ink, and of course the article to create this piece on canvas. My favorite part is the earth itself. I really like the texture in it. I also incorporated Chinese symbols meaning green and earth as well.

Folk Art!

Folk art was this art assignment.
I took an old chair that my family had for years and decided it was my new art project. I used gel medium to glue down newspaper and pieces of maps on the legs and part of the back of the chair. I then used india ink to create silhouettes of trees, flowers and birds that can be seen on top of the newspaper/maps.
This is by far one of my most favorite pieces. I hope you enjoy it as much as i do :)

One Word- Trust

For an assignment we had to choose one word and document what that word means to use using photographs. I chose trust. For my first shots i wanted to do something with animals. I think that animals are a great example of trust because even though they dont completely understand us they trust us anyways. To show this i took pictures of my cat crook. Here is the best shot of her( Right).

For my next shots i got my friend from the city to write trust in marker on on of her fingers. I then got her to sit on the floor and cover her face, as if she doesn't trust anybody. I think that people need to be self confident and not worry so much about other people. Here is my best shot of her(Left).

Next, i wanted to take a picture that shows trust in between two people. I got my parents to hold hands against a neutral background and took a picture. My dad really liked it because it is now the background on his phone :P haha

Aperture Cont'd

I then took 2 more pictures of the same still life from farther away. Again the F 4.5 is on the left and the F 32 is on the right. Here are how those shots turned out.

Aperture

For an assignment we had to take four pictures displaying how aperture effects the overall picture. Up close I took pictures of a still life with F 4.5(Left) and F 32(Right). Here are the results of the shots. With the F32, more of the background is in focus as opposed to the picture with the F 4.5.

Pictures for Chad

These pictures i took for an assignment that our class is doing with Chad. One morning i was waiting for the bus and i looked out the window and saw our bench covered with frost. I thought they would make some awesome shots. I like finding things to document a photograph, that give you a really good idea what its like in a certain environment. Whether its what a persons life is like or with these shots what its like in Saskatchewan weather.I only chose my 2 favorite shots to post so here they are :)♥

True Colours.

The flower is framed! As i'm sure all of you seen it up at scyap, in case you didn't.. the flower is framed finally! I absolutely love it and i think Micheal's did a fabulous job. :)

Blue Jay

Since i finished my flower at Gail Adams, its time to start a new picture. I decided on a blue jay in pencil crayon (yet again)- to give to my grandma in memory of my grandpa, for her birthday. I just started on the pencil crayon portion of it not that long ago, so i have a long ways to go yet. Here is what my picture looks like so far.

I must not fear..

*I must not fear
Fear is the mind killer.
Fear is the little death
that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear
I will permit it to pass over me &
Through me
& When it has gone past
I will turn the inner eye to see its path
Where the fear has gone
will be nothing
Only I will remain.*

- I created this piece for a texture assignment. It didn't turn out quite the way i had hoped it would. I used gel newspaper, gel medium, acrylic, permanent marker, and barbed wire. I call this piece "I must not fear."

Every Moment in Life is a Celebration

I created this piece for a texture assignment in our Art20 class. When i started it i had no idea what i wanted to do with it or how the outcome was going to be. I simply painted the wood completely black with acrylic and gel medium, leaving ridges and bumps all over. I then crazily painted acrylic hot pink on top in X patterns. I got my amazing boyfriend to cut a plastic martini glass in half, glued it on, and drew swirls with India ink. For something as random as it is, i really like it. I think that this piece shows how your feelings each day can affect your art :)

365

One of our photography projects back in December was to take a picture a day for 30 days to document our life. Here is my favorite shot out of them all =)
I really like the curvy road that goes along the left of the bessborough. It creates depth to the photo, and that is the main reason i like it.

Halloween

Ok, halloween is my 2nd favorite time of the year behind christmas. I love the costumes, the candy, the jackolanterns, and just the general idea behind it. I think having a night where you can dress up as anything you want and be somebody completely different for that night without being judged is completely magnificint.
Below are some pitures of anything wether is costume ideas, pumpking carving ideas, anything! to do with halloween.
